MDX continues improvment

Maryland Exiles took on another top rated program in preparation for their league opener in two weeks. Prep opened up with sustained movements, and good line speed and solid tackling from the Exiles kept Prep from scoring. We had opportunities to remove the threat from our line, but our forwards struggled with turnovers in both scrums and lineouts. Eventually Prep was able to find a hole in our defense and was able to touch down a converted try.

When we got the ball back, it was our turn to put the ball through the phases and put pressure on Prep's defense. We stretched Prep to the left and were able to work the ball to the right side of the field where Logan O'Connell was able to draw and pass a two on one to put Junior Kayembe into space. Junior didn't disappoint and showed the speed we have been waiting for reaching the Prep goal line. The next moment illustrated our issues during this pre-season. Junior forgot that you have to touch the ball down to score, and instead of a try, we were turned away from our attack.

Prep stepped back on the attack and worked the ball patiently down the field to touch down for a two try lead. However, when we got the ball back, we demonstrated our best rugby of the day.
