The Maryland Exiles started a great day of rugby by playing a tough and scrappy team from Baltimore Poly. Several times we broke into the open field, and the Baltimore cover defense was there to make the tackle and stop us from getting the score. That being said, we played some very good rugby and the scoreboard reflects that.
First half tries came from Pierre Liggens, Adam Tounkara (3), and Jabari Agymann. Baltimore was up for the game, but we pressed them with several line breaks and deep kicks they had trouble gathering. Our defense was lacking for one moment during the game, and Baltimore was rewarded for their efforts with a converted try. First Half: Maryland Exiles 33 Baltimore Poly 7
We made some substitutions putting Morgan White and Zion Raeburn on the pitch for their first runs with our first fifteen. Our production did not dip, and we were rewarded with second half tries from Isaac Lewis, Nick Costa and Noah Lucas. Quinn Freeman hit on 7/8 conversion kicks on top of the normal heavy hits he deals out in the course of a game.
Final Score: Maryland Exiles 54 -- Baltimore Poly 7
