The Maryland Exiles Field two teams in the Medstar Sevens Tournament this weekend

Cameroon is good. Congo is bad!

The MDX Sevens Team played in the last tournament of the Fall Sevens Season. They played in three matches and played some of the best sevens rugby we have seen this fall.

Match #1 -- DeMatha Catholic HS -- Logan O'Connell, Cole Siepman, Patrick Bousquet and Thomas Gao all found the tryzone and led the team to a thrilling 20-5 victory over a very tough and fast team.

Match #2 -- West End Youth Rugby -- This was a real ding dong back and forth match with Rylan Wareham, Cole Siepman and Thomas Gao finding the tryzone. The team came out on the wrong end of the 24-15 score, but played some amazing rugby.

Match #3 -- Gonzaga -- Although the scoreline doesn't represent how well our team played, we played exceptionally well and the players on the field received a great education on how to dominate the contact area. Tyler Lopes finished off a great movement against the eventual tournament champions 20-7.

JV Squad -- Zach Doser led a second group in the JV bracket. Charles Ferguson, Tyler Jenkins, Toa Luka, Chilly Oser, and Ezechiel Titchom joined him in games against Great Falls and the Heights. Tyler Jenkins scored his first try ever, and the team all played multiple games finishing 1-1-1. There is some outstanding talent in this group, and we're looking forward to seeing this squad continue to improve in the future.
