Bytown Blues
MDX took on one of the best club rugby programs in Canada this past weekend. In the first half, the touring side exposed us every time that we made a mistake. But we traded punches and gave as good as we got. The Bytown Blues busted loose for two tries in the last minutes of the period. The first came off a tighthead pickup , and the second came from a counter attack that turned the corner on our defense. MDX wasn't finished however, and Eric Ishekwene drove through the touring sides defense following a period of sustained pressure.
In the second half, the Bytown Blues came out on fire hitting open spaces and putting the MDX defense under huge pressure. This pressure was rewarded with two converted tries by the touring team. MDX came back through phase play led by Beski Stohlman and Everett Lee, and eventually all of this pressure was rewarded with a try by Vincent McHale.
PAX River
We were very fortunate to have PAX River come to this event. It was great to see them fight hard against the touring Canadians.
