Loudoun County scored three converted tries in the first half, as MDX struggled to overcome personnel issues. The MDX youngsters that did post, pitched up in the second half and went nose to nose with a strong Loudoun County team. Second half tries were scored by Evan Miller, Yann Aubert (twice), AJ Conway and Edward Stahley. MDX scored the final try in injury time and ran out of time dropping a 31-35 decision.
Loudoun County was a very tough and classy opponent, and the refereeing was consistent and fair. It was a great opportunity for our team youngsters that got a chance to experience what high school varsity level rugby is all about. Thomas Hill, Tyler Jenkins, Jack Lejko, and Alex Sandoval all got their first taste of varsity rugby. Gavin Masaya and Cam Webster moved up from the Middle School team and had a huge presence in this game.
